PR PROfile: Sarah Tourville, Media Frenzy Global
CEO and Founder
Media Frenzy Global
Length of PR career (so far): 19 years in PR
Your most memorable campaign: Vlingo. It was the launch of the world’s first voice recognition app, which we took and made viral in UK, Spain, Italy and Germany.
Best thing about working at your agency: The team. They give their best everyday and love what they do. It’s the ultimate team culture.
Last time you didn’t do any work all weekend: Very rare. It’s my opportunity to catch up when no one else is sending me emails. I can actually get them down to around 10!
Most misunderstood thing about PR: I wish people understood that Analyst Relations can strengthen media coverage. An analyst who is well briefed on a tech vendor’s strategy can be a powerful independent force helping to improve the credibility of the coverage.
Most outrageous client request: To publicly ridicule the competition, which I told the client was not in our wheelhouse!
What got you interested in a PR career? I stumbled upon PR, as my initial love was marketing, then analyst relations. I then noticed how well they complement each other to create media frenzy™ which spurred my interest further.
Number of meetings you were in last week: 16
Best advice to a PR student: Be confident at writing, as it will take you far in PR.
Favorite way to de-stress: Running
Worst PR crisis in the news this year so far: Lufthansa’s (German Wings) pilot crashing the plane.
Brand that does the best PR/communications: FedEx
Brand most in need of better PR: Coach
Favorite non-work hobby: Horse riding
Last book you read: “Saving Grace” by Jane Green
Cocktail of choice: Skinny Margarita
Favorite movie this year: “Before I Go To Sleep”
Your first “real” job: Marketing Coordinator at Worldspan, London (now Travelport)
Childhood “dream job”: Dancer
Three people you’d love to invite to dinner: Michael Jackson (if he was still with us), Mark Barnes (my client, as he’s the happiest person I know) and Madonna, as she was my 80s idol and I have so many questions I want to ask her.
Your next big adventure: Building Media Frenzy Global is an ongoing adventure and branding our new office space is going to be the next big thing for us. Personal adventures include a trip to St Kitts with my family.
Your ideal Saturday: Running, reading, time with my girls, husband, and five animals and then a nice dinner out.
